Rotary Club of Nagda is proudly celebrating its Silver Jubilee year of Foundation. The club was sponsored by Rotary Club of Ujjain, chartered on 30th June 1997 under the able guidance of Past District Governor Rtn. Ravi Prakash Langar and founding President Rtn. Shailendra Kumar Jain.
Nagda is a semi-urban city near Ujjain with an industrial township with one of Asia’s biggest man-made viscose fibre industries of Aditya Birla Group. The population of the city is around 1.25 lacs, and the city is surrounded by around thirty villages within a radius of five km. River Chambal is the lifeline of this city and Shri Sheshshayi Vishnu Birla Temple is the main attraction for local people. Nagda is well connected with roads and railways.
Rotary Club of Nagda has a rich history of service projects and other activities. 219 Polio corrective surgeries and hundreds of Polio Eradication Awareness programmes, hundreds of Cataract surgeries, Eye check -up camps, Tuberculosis awareness and detection camps, Water and Sanitation projects, Green Nagda – Clean Nagda Project, as well as several activities under Basic Education and Literacy Project. The club has also helped local community with Ambulance and Dialysis Machine through Global Grants.
The club has also hosted many District Events like PET, SET, AGTS, DTTS. It has also sponsored Rotaract Club of Sheshshayi College Nagda in 2015.
The club is organising Rotary Fun Mela (Fair) every alternate year and it is its signature project.
